MühldorfMühldorf, Lower Austria, market town in the district of Krems an der Donau, alt. 360 m, pop. 1,474, area 28.47 km2, west of Spitz, in the northern foothills of Jauerling Hill.- First documented mention 1141/47, graphite mining from the 19th century to 1968. Oldest agricultural credit cooperative (Raiffeisenkasse) in Austria (1886), town hall (main parts from 16th century), Oberranna Castle; in Niederranna, late Gothic parish church (converted in Baroque style) with canvas paintings (1793) by M. J. Schmidt; former Prandhof Palace.
