Michel, Robert


Michel, Robert, b. Chabeřice (Czech Republic), Feb. 24, 1876, d. Vienna, Feb. 12, 1957, writer, jointly with H. Bahr and M. (see)Devrient director of the Vienna Burgtheater in 1918. Wrote several novels inspired by his experience as an officer serving in Bosnia-Herzegovina.


Works: Novels and stories: Die Verhüllte, 1907; Die Häuser an der Dzamija, 1915; Die geliebte Stimme, 1928; Halbmond über der Narenta, 1942.
