(Austrian People's Party, ÖVP). 1950 to 1955 Head of the language department of the US radio channel "Rot-Weiß-Rot", for which he, with P. Weiser, W. Davy and I. Bachmann wrote the radio series "Radiofamilie" as well as the critical satirical weekly radio show "Der Watschenmann" (1950 to 1955 and 1967 to 1974). 1967 to 1974 cultural affairs editor and programme planner for ORF television (Austrian Broadcasting Corporation). 1978 to 1986 municipal councillor of Vienna, until 1983 member of the Vienna Landtag and member of the Vienna Municipal Council.
