Leopoldinische LinieLeopoldinian branch of the Habsburg dynasty; resulted from the Partition Treaty of Neuberg (1379) Neuberger Teilungsvertrag. After the death of Leopold III, who was given Inner Austria (Styria, Carinthia and Carniola), Tyrol and the foothills of the Alps, the branch split further into a Styrian Line (Ernst the Iron) and a Tyrolean line (Friedrich IV). While the latter died out in 1496 with Sigmund, the Styrian line continued with Emperor Friedrich III.
