Kolin


Kolin (Kolín), town in the Czech Republic on the upper Elbe River. In the Seven Years' War field marshal L. Daun beat the Prussian troops under Friedrich II there on June 18th , 1757; subsequently suffered his first major defeat; the Maria Theresia military order was founded on the occasion of the Austrian victory.
