Kegelsport


Skittles (ninepins, tenpins), traditional game of bowling at pins, popular since the middle Ages, usually played in pubs. The modern competitive sport has developed since the second half of the 19th  century: The Austrian skittles association (Österreichischer Sportkeglerbund, ÖSKB), founded in 1935, also includes bowling with a round ball with finger holes; it comprises 615 clubs with a total of 8,053 members (as of 1993).
