Käs, Ferdinand


Käs, Ferdinand, b. Brussels (Belgium), March 7, 1914, d. Vienna, Aug. 19, 1988, regular soldier and civil servant. Participated in the Austrian military resistance in Vienna under C. Szokoll and the protection of Vienna in the combats of April, 1945 (direct contact with the 3rd Ukrainian Front on April 1, 1945 in Hochwolkersdorf, Lower Austria). Significant contribution to the establishment of the Austrian executive branch (B branch of the Gendarmerie as forerunner to the Austrian Federal Armed Forces), until 1963 in his function as lieutenant colonel, head of the constabulary school, from 1963-1979 official in the Ministry of the Interior.
