Kanitz, Otto Felix - Karajan, Theodor Ritter von ab 1869 (20/25)
Kapuziner Kapuzinergruft

Kapuzinerberg

Kapuzinerberg Hill (636m), in the city of Salzburg with a superb view of the town, the southeastern part called Imberg. At the foot of the hill are the Capuchin monastery and the Capuchin church built from 1599 to 1602 (incorporating the Trompeterschlößl, a small castle from 1280, into the buildings). The Kapuzinerberg wall (1629-1632) is a fortification wall reaching from the Felixpforte gate to the Franziski-Schlößl (a small castle turned into a restaurant). In 1874 the Zauberflötenhäuschen (the Magic Flute House), the house in which Mozart composed the Magic Flute, was transferred to the Kapuzinerberg from Vienna (today it stands in the garden of the Mozarteum).
