IdunaIduna, Catholic conservative circle (1891-1904) of Viennese writers opposed to naturalism and the liberal Young Vienna movement; they expressed their ideas and attitudes through a journal of the same name dedicated to literature and criticism (1892/93). Iduna was initiated and promoted by J. Fercher von Steinwand. Members were R. von Kralik, M. delle Grazie and R. Steiner. In 1896, Kralik and a few other members of the Iduna circle joined the Association of Austrian Catholic Writers (Verband katholischer Schriftsteller und Schriftstellerinnen Österreichs); others joined the Society of Viennese Writers (Wiener Schriftsteller-Genossenschaft) in 1904.
