Hauer, Julius vonHauer, Julius von, b. Vienna, Jan. 26, 1831, d. Leoben (Styria), Feb. 18, 1910, mining engineer, brother of Franz von Hauer, 1866-1897 taught at the Leoben University of Mining and Metallurgy, rector several times. His book "Die Hüttenwesensmaschinen" (1867) was for decades regarded the standard work of reference for metallurgical engineering in Austria as well as abroad. Literature: ÖBL.
