Gomperz, HeinrichGomperz, Heinrich, b. Vienna, Jan. 18, 1873, d. Los Angeles (USA), Dec. 27, 1942, philosopher. Son of Theodor Gomperz; professor at the University of Vienna; from 1934 onwards in the USA. Developed a theory of what he designated "Pathempirismus", according to which the conscience of man contains only ideas and emotions.
