Gerstmeyer auch Gerstmajer, JosephGerstmeyer (also called Gerstmajer), Joseph, b. Vienna, March 6, 1801, d. Vienna, Sept. 14, 1870, painter of landscapes. Studied at the Vienna Academy and painted landscapes of Upper Italy and Austria, numerous views of Vienna and the surrounding area, many of which served as patterns for graphic print reproductions.
