Gall, Saint, feast day Oct. 16th, b. Ireland, about 560, d. Arbon (Switzerland), Oct. 16, 650, monk, hermit. Missionary (north-eastern Switzerland, Lake Constance area). Taught and preached in Bregenz (old Aureliakirche) between 610-612 together with Saint Kolumban. Gall patronages in Bregenz and St. Gallenkirch (both in Vorarlberg), Weer (Tyrol), St. Gallen (Styria), Neusiedl am See (Burgenland).
