Franz Friedrich, Prinz von Hohenzollern-Hechingen


Franz Friedrich, Prince of Hohenzollern-Hechingen, b. Gheule near Maastricht (Netherlands), May 31, 1757, d. Vienna, April 6, 1844, Austrian Field Marshal initially in the service of the Netherlands. He distinguished himself at Belgrade in 1788 and fought in the battle of Wagram in 1809. Later appointed Supreme Commander of Inner Austria and became President of the Court Council of War (Hofkriegsrat) in 1825.
