Krafft; 1853 curator of the imperial and royal picture gallery at Belvedere Palace; from 1867 teacher at the imperial Institute of Restoration. Together with F. G. Waldmüller was one of the masters of middle-class genre-painting during the "Vormärz" period (time between the Congress of Vienna in 1814/15 and the revolution of 1848). Literature: I. Kastel, F.
