Drentwett, Jonas


Drentwett, Jonas, b. Augsburg (Germany), around 1650, d. Vienna, around 1720, fresco painter. Came from a family of goldsmiths who worked in Augsburg in the 16th to 18th centuries; worked in Pressburg (Bratislava) (fresco in the Town Hall, 1695) and Vienna. Painted frescoes in Prince Eugène's Winter Palace and in the Lower Belvedere ("Groteskensaal").
