Christen, Ada (née Christine Rosalia Frideriks, second marriage with Adelmar von Breden), b. Vienna, March 6, 1839, d. Vienna, May 23, 1901, dramatist, narrative writer and poet, came from a poor family. Member of the literary circle around L. Anzengruber, F. Hebbel and F. von Saar. Her sociocritical works influenced the early naturalists.
