Beer, Johann Ferdinand, b. Au (Vorarlberg), Oct. 19, 1731, d. Au, Jan. 16, 1789, architect of the monastery at St. Gallen in Switzerland ("Neue Pfalz", 1767-1771) and construction of several monastery churches. Reconstructed the chapter-house of the monastery at Bregenz-Mehrerau (1779-1781). See also: Beer Family.
