Vienna, May 15, 1931 (suicide), sculptor, father of the sculptor Franz B. the Younger. Teacher in Villach and 1908-1924 at the Vienna School of Arts and Crafts. Specialist in wood carving, in particular animal figures where he unifies vitality with stereometric discipline and amalgamates modern and traditional styles. Literature: G.
