Bad PirawarthBad Pirawarth, Lower Austria, market town in the district of Gänserndorf, alt. 177 m, pop. 1,522, area 25.43 km2, on Weidenbach stream in the Weinviertel region; archives of the Office of the Lower Austrian provincial government, spa and rehabilitation centre with medicinal bath (new buildings constructed in 1998); concrete factory, building contractors. Documented as spa since the early 14th century, impressive Baroque parish church (originally a fortified church, 1739-1756) with magnificent Baroque interior and altar-piece paintings (1752) by B. Altomonte, Rococo pulpit; Knesl park with sculptures by H. Knesl.
