Aumann Aumon, Franz Joseph


Aumann (Aumon), Franz Joseph, b. Traismauer (Lower Austria), Feb. 24, 1728, d. St. Florian (Upper Austria), March 30, 1797, member of the order of the Augustinian Canons, composer. As member of the Vienna Boys' Choir associated with the composers M. Haydn and J. G. Albrechtsberger. Joined the monastery at St. Florian in 1753. His compositions of church music bear features of the Venetian and Neapolitan Schools and also show the influence of the Viennese Classical style; made a lasting impression on the young A. Bruckner.
