The randomly determined purchase price of the property was mostly deposited in blocked accounts which were then seized by the government in 1941. The Restitution Laws (Rückstellungsgesetze) of 1946-1949 were an attempt to mitigate or reverse the consequences of Aryanisation in Austria.
