Mozart Symphony B-flat major, K 319

Movements: Allegro assai/Andante moderato/Menuetto/Finale (Allegro assai)

Orchestra: 2 oboes, 2 bassoons, 2 horns, strings

Duration of performance: 20 minutes

The symphony was finished at Salzburg on July 9th, 1779. The first version consisted only of 3 movements. In 1782 the work was revised and a minuet movement added. It is interesting to note that in the development of the first movement he introduces a motive that had already been used in the first symphony K 16 and that also recurs as the main theme in the Finale of the Jupiter Symphony.
