Getreidegasse (birthplace)
Right in the centre of Salzburg you will find Getreidegasse 9. There you can see the house of a Salzburg
merchant Johann Lorenz Hagenauer (1712-92, cf. "Österreich-Lexikon"), where Leopold Mozart (1719-87) moved with his wife
Anna Maria in 1747. For 26 years Leopold Mozart lodged in this house, on the third floor. 7 children
were born here; two survived their infancy, one of them being "Joannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus
Theophilus", later called Wolfgang Amadeus, born on January 27th 1756.
