1070 Vienna, Lerchenfelder Straße 15

In 1825 Johann Strauß jun.s parents moved to a house in 1070 Vienna, Lerchenfelder Straße 15, which was pulled down in 1890 as it had become quite delapidated. It was replaced by a new structure plus the memorial plaque. At that time the district was still the suburb of St.Ulrich, which was later incorporated in the municipal area of Vienna. This is where Johann Strauß was born on October 25th, 1825. In 1890 Johann Strauß witnessed the demolition of his birthplace with nostalgic feelings.
