Brahms bust in Brahms-Saal, Bösendorfer Straße 12, Vienna, 1st district
In the Vienna "Musikverein", famous because of the New Year's Concerts, there are several halls. The most famous is the "Golden Hall", its smaller brother is the Brahms-Saal, a name it was given in 1930. It is particularly suited for chamber music and vocal music. This name also intends to express the close contact between the composer and the Society of Music Friends. On entering the hall the visitor is first struck by the bust of Johannes Brahms, as shown in this photo.
