Belvedere Palace, the summer residence of Prince Eugene, is among the most illustrious creations of Baroque architecture. It was designed as a place of recreation, not for every-day use. It is the place where the Austrian State Treaty was signed in 1955. In close vicinity is the "Kustodenstöckl", i.e. the gatekeeper's lodge, where Bruckner died.
