On October 18, 1901 Schönberg married Mathilde von Zemlinsky. He had got to know Alexander von Zemlinsky's sister (siehe "Österreich-Lexikon") in 1899. Already on March 25,1898 he had changed from the mosaic to the Protestant faith. This church is a former Catholic convent church that belonged to the order of the Poor Clares; in 1783 it was opened for Protestant services. In 1907 the facade was re-designed by architect Schöne.
