Début in Cologne in 1939, 1941 engagement at theatres in Graz (Städtische Bühnen). H. Hilpert brought her to Vienna in 1944, where she acted at the Volkstheater, the "Insel", the Theater in der Josefstadt and at the "Scala"; guest performances in Zurich, Berlin and Basle; worked at the Vienna Burgtheater from 1960 (played parts in plays by A. Schnitzler, F. Grillparzer, W. Shakespeare, F. von Schiller, F. Dürrenmatt, B. Brecht and L. Pirandello).
