Oberkirchberg near Ulm (Germany), Jan. 20, 1771, d. Graz (Styria), April 27, 1848, theologian. Professor of New Testament Studies at the Universities of Kraków, Prague and Vienna. As bishop of Graz-Seckau (Styria) from 1824-1848 Z. carried out important reforms in the diocese, which had been vacant for 12 years; in the face of great difficulties reformed the clergy, induced religious orders to settle in the area and achieved a religious revival.
