Graz (Styria), April 27, 1848, theologian. Professor of New Testament Studies at the Universities of Kraków, Prague and Vienna. As bishop of Graz-Seckau (Styria) from 1824-1848 Z. carried out important reforms in the diocese, which had been vacant for 12 years; in the face of great difficulties reformed the clergy, induced religious orders to settle in the area and achieved a religious revival.
