Wurm, Ernst


Wurm, Ernst, b. Katzelsdorf (Lower Austria), June 30, 1906, d. Wiener Neustadt (Lower Austria), Sept. 30, 1971, writer. Lived at Zwettl (Lower Austria); best known for his peasant novel "Solange die Erde steht" (1934), set in Romania, and for his historical novel "Die Adlerin" (1936).


Further works: Novels and narratives: Seine Kraft war in ihm mächtig, 1935; Der Held von Nedea, 1937; Agneta Tischler, 1937; Händel, 1942; Michaela, 1947; Die Krone, 1951; Die letzte Sonate, 1968. - Dramas: Zwischen Genf und Paris, 1935; Der Schiffermeister von Sarmingstein, 1962. Radio plays, monographs and screen play.
