Wunderteam


Wunderteam, popular name of the Austrian national soccer team of 1931-1932, which remained undefeated in 14 consecutive matches. The straight wins against Scotland (5 : 0), Germany (6 : 0 and 5 : 0), Switzerland (8 : 1) and Hungary (8 : 2) attracted particular attention. Players included R. Hiden, R. Schramseis, J. Blum, G. Braun, J. Smistik, K. Gall, K. Zischek, R. Gschweidl, M. Sindelar, A. Schall, A. Vogel, W. Nausch, H. Mock, K. Rainer, H. Horvath, P. Platzer and K. Sesta.
