Woschnagg, GregorWoschnagg, Gregor, b. Bern (Switzerland), Aug. 23, 1939, diplomat. Studied law in Vienna and Grenoble as well as at Trinity College in Cambridge. 1966 joined the Austrian foreign ministry (Ministry for Foreign Affairs); 1968-1973 permanent Austrian representative at the UN in New York, 1973-1975 Austrian ambassador in Cairo, 1981-1986 in Nairobi. 1987-1996 head of the department of economic integration in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, 1997-1999 head of the section for economics and integration policy; since 1999 permanent Austrian EU representative in Brussels.
