Wohlbrück, Adolf eigentlich Wilhelm Anton


Wohlbrück, Adolf (real name: Wilhelm Anton), b. Vienna, Nov. 19, 1896, d. Garatshausen (Germany), Aug. 9, 1967, actor. His films, for example "Viktor und Viktoria" (1933), "Der Student von Prag" (1935) and "Maskerade" (1934, director: W. Forst) made him one of the most popular actors in German film comedies (in which he mostly appeared as a rich man about town). Started his career in Hollywood in 1936 (acted under the name of Anton Walbrook); later moved to the United Kingdom, where he had a successful acting career on stage and in films.
