Oct. 20, 1591, leader of the protestant aristocracy of the duchies of Styria, Carinthia, Carniola (Krain) and the county of Gorizia (Görz); 1556-1579 governor ("Schlosshauptmann") of the castle of Graz, built the palace of Saurau-Goess in Sporgasse (Turk with a shield and a sword below the projecting roof, the original is exhibited in the Stadtmuseum Graz, the municipal museum of Graz).
