WildalpenWildalpen, Styria, municipality in the district of Liezen, alt. 607 m, pop. 640, area 203.09 km2, municipality with summer tourism (42,382 overnight stays in 1992) in the thickly-wooded Salzatal valley, situated in the Salzatal Valley Nature Reserve II. - St. Gallen road maintenance depot, power stations on the River Salza and the Hinterwildalpenbach Stream. - Parish church (1674) with remarkable frescoes (1784-1785) by J. and A. Lederwasch, figures on the high altar and the chapel altars made by the workshop of Joseph T. Stammel. - South of Wildalpen, headwater region of the 2nd Vienna Spring Water Supply System.
