Wien-UmgebungWien-Umgebung, Lower Austria, political district divided into three sections (pop. 94,001) and bordering on Vienna in the north, northwest and southeast. It comprises all the municipalities which had been integrated into Vienna in 1938 ("Greater Vienna") and that regained their independence in 1954. In the north, the district of Wien-Umgebung consists of the municipality Gerasdorf bei Wien, in the northwest of Klosterneuburg. Municipalities in the western part include Mauerbach, Purkersdorf, Tullnerbach, Pressbaum and Wolfsgraben; municipalities in the southern part include Leopoldsdorf, Lanzendorf, Schwechat, Fischamend, Maria-Lanzendorf, Himberg, Zwölfaxing, Rauchenwarth, Klein-Neusiedl, Moosbrunn, Gramatneusiedl, Ebergassing and Schwadorf.
