Weiland, Joseph


Weiland, Joseph, b. Schrick (in the municipality of Gaweinstal, Lower Austria), Sept. 21, 1882, d. Vienna, July 12, 1961. Regional writer and dialect poet of the Weinviertel. Achieved recognition with his works "Aus da Weingegnd" (1927) and "´s Hauerrastl" (1932); chairman of the Association of Friends of Austrian Dialects.


Further works: Poetry: Mein dritts Lesn, 1936; Liada, Lehrn und Allahand, 1945; Herbst in meinem Weinberg, 1949.- Narratives: Laßts´s eng darzähln, 1935.
