© Copyright Johann Weber, photo, 1995 Weber, Johann, b. St. Veit near Graz (Styria), April 26, 1927. Cleric, 1969-2001 Bishop of Graz-Seckau. Ordination in 1950. Before his appointment as Bishop worked as a worker priest in Kapfenberg and Köflach and also as parish priest in Graz-St. Andrä. In 1981 initiated the Styrian Catholic Rally and in 1993 the "Day of Styria". 1995-1998 chairman of the Austrian Conference of Bishops, 1998-2001 deputy chairman. Literature: K. Amon and M.
