Wanke, JohannesWanke, Johannes, b. Vienna, March 14, 1923, painter. Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna with H. Boeckl and S. Pauser. At first focussed mainly on wood engraving and later turned to oil painting and watercolours. Awarded the Grand Prize of the Austrian State in 1950. Literature: V. Birke, J.
