Walde, Alfons© Copyright Alfons Walde, Der Schifahrer, painting, 1932 Walde, Alfons, b. Oberndorf (Tyrol), Feb. 8, 1891, d. Kitzbühel (Tyrol), Dec. 11, 1958, painter and architect. Influenced by Secessionism. Created still-lifes, landscape paintings and peasant scenes. Achieved international recognition mainly with the posters of winter landscapes and wintersports motifs created 1920-1938; as an architect he participated in the rebuilding of Mittersill palace (Salzburg) and country houses.
