Wagram, NiederösterreichWagram, Lower Austria, 10-30 m high, steep fertile escarpment north of the River Danube, between the rivers Kamp and March, boundary between the Tullnerfeld Plain, Marchfeld Plain and the Weinviertel Region. The terrace results from erosion by the River Danube (formerly bank of the river) and is of a regular structure with base (about half-way up), a gravel layer (typical Danube gravel from the Ice Age) and loess and loam cover. Its regular course is dissected by river beds (Schmida, Göllersbach, Rußbach and Weidenbach rivers).
