Wacek, WilhelmWacek, Wilhelm, b. Soběslav, Czech Republic (then Sobeslau), Oct. 28, 1864, d. Vienna, Dec. 17, 1944, kapellmeister. From 1894 conducted the band of the "Hoch- und Deutschmeister" (successor to C. M. Ziehrer). His son Otto W. (b. Brixen/Bressanone (South Tirol)), April 10, 1893, d. Vienna, July 9, 1983) was also kapellmeister ("Hoch- und Deutschmeister", 1947-1968 of the Vienna fire brigade).
