Vorarlberger LandesmuseumVorarlberger Landesmuseum (Museum of the Province of Vorarlberg), Bregenz, founded in 1857; operated by the province of Vorarlberg from 1947 and by the Vorarlberger Kulturhäuser BetriebsGesmbH since 1997; displays a great variety of finds dating back to prehistoric and early historic times, of which the most important include several from Brigantium, valuable panel paintings and sculptures from the Middle Ages and the Baroque period, especially some outstanding shrine altars from the late Gothic period; works by Angelika Kauffmann; extensive collection on folklore and Heimatkunde (homeland studies).; library, building housing collections and workshops.
