Vereinsrecht

Law of Associations: Under Article 12 of the Fundamental Law of 1867, the Association Law of 1951 and Article 11 of the Convention on Human Rights all persons are entitled to form associations. An association is defined as any voluntary, organised association of persons on a long-term basis with the aim of achieving a certain purpose through joint activities. Profit associations, religious societies and political parties are subject to special laws and not subject to the Associations Law. An association needs to be registered with the Law Enforcement Authority (system of registration) by presentation of its statutes and articles.
