UrfahrUrfahr, Upper Austria, part of the town of Linz on the northern bank of the Danube, at the foot of Pöstlingberg Mountain, mainly residential area, no industry; Linz University; "Lentia 2000" building complex with shopping centre and Neue Galerie (New Gallery) of the town of Linz; administrative centre of Linz (New Town Hall). - Documented mention in 1290, town status since 1882, associated with Linz since 1919, 1945-1955 headquarters of the Russian occupation forces in Upper Austria, had its own town administration and autonomy; former Capuchin monastery (1690-1694) with present parish church (1692-1694), ceiling painting after J.
