Urbanitzky, Grete von


Urbanitzky, Grete von, b. Linz (Upper Austria), July 9, 1893, d. Geneva (Switzerland), Nov. 4, 1974, author of novels and narratives, translator, journalist. In 1933 initiated the division of the Austrian P. E. N.-Club; in her work she dared to deal with female homosexuality.


Works: Novels: Mirjams Sohn, 1926; Zwischen den Spiegeln, 1930; Eine Frau erlebt die Welt, 1931; Nina, 1935; Unsre liebe Frau von Paris, 1938; Der große Traum, 1942; Der Mann Alexander, 1943. - Novellas, radio plays, poems.
