Klimt. 1916 in Sascha-Film of Count A. J. Kolowrat-Krakowsky, began with news reel reports; 1919 cameraman in films by M. Kertesz ("Die Sklavenkönigin", 1924; "Das Spielzeug von Paris", 1925). 1927 début as director: "Tingel-Tangel", "Cafe Elektric" (both 1928); some films with German nationalist undertones ("Das Flötenkonzert von Sanssouci", 1930; "York", 1931) in Germany as well as the propaganda film "Heimkehr" (1941).
