TraunsteinTraunstein Mountain, Upper Austria, magnificent peak (1,691 m) at the northern fringe of the Limestone Alps on the eastern shore of Lake Traunsee, made of Wetterstein limestone, it consists of the Traunkirchner Kogel Mountain (1,575 m) with the Traunstein mountain refuge and the Sulzkogel mountain (1,105 m). The most frequented track for climbers to the peak is across the Mairalm (789 m, summit cross). Naturfreunde climbing route.
