Telekom Austria AGTelekom Austria AG, telecommunications company, independent since January 1, 1998, formed by spin-off from Post und Telekom Austria AG (PTA); since December 22, 1998, holdings have been shared by the parent PTA and Telecom Italia, which holds 25 % plus one share. Telecom Austria, Austria's leading wire telephone company (Telecommunications), has subsidiaries in the fields of mobile phone communication (Mobilkom Austria AG) and electronic data transmission (Datakom Austria GmbH). With a staff of 18,680 the company achieved sales in the order of ATS 45.6 billion in 1997.
